Happy Kwanzaa to My Brothers and Sisters!

The brother picture above these lines, needs no introduction.  I am privileged on this 1st day of Kwanzaa to offer my humble thoughts, in the true spirit of Umoja.  Thank you, Maulana Karenga for your most beautiful gift to African-American culture, a full week of celebration of and reflection on our best and most profound principles of life and prosperity called The Nguzo Saba.  As we close out 2013 and approach 2014 with great anticipation, let us reflect for a moment how far we've come and still need to go, on our journey to full human consciousness.

The Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles) are the foundation of a community-oriented and production driven societal structure that can build a strong nation of people.  According to Maulana Karenga, these guiding principles originate from the Kawaida philosophy.  He explains: "the set of principles which we put forth is the Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles): Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination); Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility); Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics); Nia (Purpose); Kuumba (Creativity) and Imani (Faith). These Seven Principles are essential standards of personal and social excellence directed toward building and sustaining moral community, and strengthening and maintaining the community's capacity to define, defend and develop its interests in the most positive and productive sense. In addition to being standards of excellence, the Nguzo Saba are also categories of priorities and categories of human possibilities. As categories of priorities, they tell us some of the most important things in our lives, identifying a key set of views, values and practices which we should, even must, put first in our personal and social life. And as categories of possibilities, the Nguzo Saba, offer us a set of principles which encourage thought and practice which help define, develop and enhance our humanity in the context of community and the world."[excerpt from The Chair's Message on the Us website http://www.us-organization.org/30th/ppp.html]

The celebration of Kwanzaa manifests itself in the exchange of meaningful dialogue among family, friends and other community members involving a unified theme of conversation, i.e., 1st night is UMOJA (Unity). "To strive for and maintain unity within the family, community, nation and race," is basic and fundamental for success within each of these groups individually, and more so for the synergistic exchanges between the collective group.  Wouldn't you just love to be able to come home to a nice, peaceful, calm house and meet some SANE people when you arrive there? Every day stuff, real simple, Not Rocket Science! Then why do so many of us, experience so many petty, hateful and down right envy driven attacks from so many ignorant people...at home, at work, in church, at the club, at the gym, in the supermarket? The answer is simple my brothers and sisters, we need more practice in applying these principles to our daily lives for 365 days per year, every year.  If each one teach one other person how to simply BE in a unified state (one where your mind is in harmony with your Higher Self), this world would eventually become a much more peaceful place than it is right now.

The good news is, WE CAN DO THIS!   Oh, and for those who think this can't be done...let me suggest you read about the Mighty Man pictured below this article.  This Mighty descendant of Kings, lived the life of a true King, An Emperor whose face and name is known to many.  I offer you this challenge: go and study the life's work of this man and then sit down and ponder each of the Nguzo Saba each night for seven nights. His Imperial Majesty built and peacefully ruled an entire nation in troubled times, while living these time honored principles.

Heri za Kwanzaa kwa yangu Ndugu na Dada (Happy Kwanzaa to My Brothers and Sisters)!

Salute to His Excellency Nelson Rohihlala Mandela, True Madiba King

With words that can only describe The Majesty of what it must be like, for a man to walk on this Earth as a Child of God, one man wrote..."I am The Master of my fate.  I am The Captain of my Soul."  His Excellency Nelson Rohihlala Mandela, born on July 18, 1918 into the Thembu Royal family, lived a glorious life of 95 years and departed from us in Glory, on December 5, 2013.  He will always be affectionately known to the people of South Africa and the greater continent of Africa as "Madiba".

He was, without a doubt,The Master of his fate.  Madiba is the name of an African clan of Kings, who's lineage is the source of Nelson Mandela's true noble birth. His noble birth, coupled with his acute understanding of what it means to be a true King, lead him to become the embodiment of the most revolutionary assault on Apartheid in history and the undisputed Champion of the South African people. He was The Master, because he understood the significance of and the critical demand for the elimination of Apartheid ['state of being apart'].  Most importantly, Madiba was The Master, because of his total commitment to the absolute destruction of Apartheid.  The emancipation of all Native South Africans and their inevitable self-governance of a unified South Africa, was his singular life objective .

He was The Captain of his Soul, for he clearly demonstrated his unconquerable will to survive, through 27 years of unjust captivity in South African prisons.  Through it all, Madiba remained steadfast and focused on the ultimate rise of the Native South African people and its sovereign nation.  He was The Captain of his Soul, because he chose righteousness over convenience and corruption, as well as militancy over submission to unjust external authorities.  He paid the price for South African freedom from Apartheid, serving 27 years in prison for standing on principle, while fighting for justice.  The Captain kept his vessel afloat in turbulent seas, while the World watched in horror; eventually the collective forces of righteousness here on Earth succeeded in  freeing Madiba from captivity in 1990.  Upon his release from bondage, Madiba set to work negotiating the political dismantling of the South Africa's Apartheid regime, with Fmr. President F. W. deKlerk.  Four years later, His Excellency ascended to become the first freely elected Native African President of South Africa.  In 1993, His Excellency was awarded The Nobel Peace Prize for his lifetime struggle against and victory over Apartheid.  His philanthropic endeavors to combat HIV/AIDS and poverty via the Nelson Mandela Foundation will continue to advance life. The purity and dedication of this Soul to his cause and his people will never be forgotten.

African men in South Africa, as well as their brethren throughout the African diaspora worldwide, must follow Madiba's example and begin to live the lives of true Kings.  One who is a true King is the Ruler of, a Warrior for and Servant of His People.  Remember..."I am The Master of my fate.  I am The Captain of my Soul."  His Excellency was the greatest living example of a True King.  I, Simba Moyo, salute the life and memory of His Excellency Nelson Rohihlala Mandela, True Madiba King!

The Experience of Time

What is time?  That's a question that some of us ask, only when forced to reflect upon how we've either spent our "time", relative to our past actions and our results in the present moment.   One standard English language source attempts to define "time" as follows: 'the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole'.  The concept of time is one that most of us are generally not conscious of, except as a means to determine our progress in navigating the daily demands of living from moment to moment.

I am writing this article today, literally fourteen months since my last post to Mind Lifting, at the end of the first day of the last month of 2012.  What is time?  I recently read the words of a very wise man, who asked the better question...namely, what is the experience of time?  The many events that I have witnessed during this last year, not only in my own life, but, in the lives of the microcosm of my family and acquaintances, as well as in the lives of the macrocosm of the world at large, cause me to ask myself this question today.  For me, the experience of time over the last fourteen months has been a constant engagement in the challenge of consciously living a life of victories, sorrows, disappointments, revelations and growth, accomplished while striving to stay focused on living each day in the present moment.  My experience of time over these last fourteen months has taught me many valuable lessons that I will carry with me forever.

The words that follow are my observations of my personal Experience of Time. Speak your truth and stand for what you believe in, no matter how unpopular or uncomfortable you might be; inner strength is always present and available, if you believe in your Self.  Time is an indefinite continuum of progress in existence; the Planet Earth and the entire Universal Family were here before and will continue on after we all leave this realm.  The only real question is, which portion of the timeline are YOU living in...is it the PAST, PRESENT or the FUTURE?  Was I always PRESENT and fully conscious every single day?  NO!  But, I learned some very valuable lessons from that experience.  When you're living and moving in life from the principles of Right Action in the PRESENT moment, marvelous things happen in your life that are unexplainable!  You set intentions that lead to committed right actions and those committed right actions lead to total freedom from a decade long health disorder.  You become a calmer, more patient and self-loving individual who overcomes struggle and worry.  Your resolve to live and attain according to the principles of Right Action attract allies and support from people and sources unknown.  There are those people, some who call themselves Friend and others called Family, who will try every fiber of your being, as they disregard the PRESENT and attempt to coax you into the PAST or push you into the FUTURE with their nonsense.  Gently and lovingly, at first, ask them to leave you be and continue on your path of PRESENT living; and if they refuse to do so, well, firmly and silently disengage from them and get back to your path.  There's nothing like the heat of your afterburners scorching them to get their attention about your resolution; at the bare minimum, the Ring of Fire around you will send a clear and PRESENT message of warning!  True love is a gift that is given without partiality  or measurement and is neither an obligation upon nor an entitlement to anyone.  The Golden Rule is still "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You", not "He/She Who Has the Gold Rules".

I Love Living in the PRESENT moment, because that's where my true power to be a Co-Creator lies, so with that thought, I look forward to the FUTURE, as I remain PRESENT.

The Mentality of a Hurricane

All is Energy.  Hurricanes manifest tremendous energy that gathers over time and then releases, through movement.  The force released by a hurricane can be extremely destructive, due to the gathering and combining of several elements of power that exist on Earth.  Why is this and how does it begin?  All is Energy and All is Mental.

Hurricanes are born in the Solar Plexus of the West, which is the Tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean, located east of Coastal Africa.  The warm Summer waters (Subconscious thoughts) increase in heat during the season and when their accumulated heat combines with stimulation from Easterly and Westerly winds (Conscious thoughts), rain clouds begin to form.  The meditation of this newly created force produces thunderstorms that are collectively powered by a very calm "eye", which lives in a vertical column, surrounded by a wall of opposing energetic forces.  The fluid movement and power of this storm (conflict between Subconscious and Conscious thoughts) is either enhanced or diminished by the collective force of warm water, air pressure and electromagnetic energy, over time and movement.  The Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic corridor of the United States form the track for the release of these storms.  Mind and matter are visibly impacted by these events, but, I believe that Collective Mind is the chief cause agent (The Unseen) for these events.  As the United States is currently experiencing the most active onset of Hurricane Season ever, let's look for clues about where the Collective Mindset is, in order to gain some insight.

Since the beginning of 2011, the world has experienced an array of violent upheavals, in the form of warfare, famine, natural disasters and political revolution that is unprecedented in human history.  A great deal of this activity originated and continues in Continental Africa.  A considerable amount of energy was released during this year, resulting in great changes, as well as in death and destruction.  The combined meditation of European and American financial market forces over budgets and debts, raised a virtual tornado that erupted in Greece and touched down in Washington, D.C. this summer.  All is Mental.  What the mind focuses on becomes its reality, whether real or not.  The Collective Mind is currently in a state of Chaos and this internal conflict between the Subconscious and Conscious Collective Mind is influencing world events, including the weather patterns we are experiencing now.  We need to raise the planetary vibrations of the Collective Mind to much higher levels...Fear and Courage are not sufficient to restore World Peace.  Love is The Answer.

For those of us living in the United States, let us examine our individual meditations and actions. Let us root out the negativity that exists in our collective thinking and behavior.  Selfishness, greed, hostility, sexism and racism have no place in the New World that is dawning; these elements have already proven their destructive capacities over centuries in this country.  Go within, calm and unify your mind (Subconscious and Conscious).  Seek The Higher Power that guides The Universe and ask for guidance.  The Law of Cause & Effect is eternally at work. The Collective Mind improves its function, through the power generated by our individual positive Thoughts and purposeful Actions, governed by Divine Will.  The All in All is Mental and thankfully,We are All made in His Image.

The Cross - Examined

Almighty God, The Great Architect and Director, scripted a Universal Play that features His greatest demonstration of Love and Power...The Human Race.  He infused us with His Spirit, which contains His Mind and His Heart.  In His Infinite Generosity, He has also gifted us with Free Will, so that we may exercise it and discover that we are Co-Creators in this Universe and therefore, truly made in His Image.  Although we are His Children, always have been and always will be, we appear today in to be in a state of mindlessness.  We run around, most of the time, unconscious and unaware of our roles, lines and behaviors on the World Stage.  But, the most interesting aspect of this, is that after numerous rehearsals, too many of us are still asking The Director "What's my MOTIVATION?"

I've got a better question...why do we continue to celebrate the life of the Risen Christ, JESUS, with such defeated symbolism wrapped around our necks?  I'm talking about the Crucifix draped about your neck, or that other one affixed to your bedroom wall at home, yes, that one!  If you say you believe that HE IS RISEN, and you understand that Ascension is elevation from this realm into expanded Spiritual Realities, then, how can you NOT UNDERSTAND that Ascension means VICTORY.  VICTORY over suffering with the disease of internal mental conflict, caused by internal spiritual warfare between the Lower and Higher Mind.  The Lower Mind, believing that it possesses Free Will (and it does) seeks to overpower the Higher Mind's dominance, by engaging in thoughts and acts that result in stressful disruption of the Spirit, Mind and Body of the person engaging in such behavior...YOU.  You're functioning at cross purposes, your little Will vs. Divine Will (Almighty God Indwelling), so there can only be one outcome.  The energies generated from two poles placed across one another resonate with a quality that is discordant and stressful between them. Now imagine your soul, suffering while dieing within the physical body of the Man nailed to that Cross.  Uncross those Poles and lay them Parallel to one another and a powerfully smooth harmonic flow of energy passes through and resonates between both Poles. There is only One Force capable of Generating, Organizing and Dissolving energy through Transformation; that Force is Able, because He is The All In All.  His Mighty Will must prevail as Victor, in that internal spiritual warfare taking place inside the Man on the Cross.  The Omnipotent One guides the Crucified into Freedom from bondage, by Blessing His Rise In Consciousness from this Realm into Expanded Consciousness and combining His Power together with the newly aligned Parallel Pole (representing the former little Will) to form The Ultimate Union.  At the moment when JESUS CHRIST submitted his Will to do The Will of God on The Cross, He aligned His Will perfectly with The Will of God and Ascended into the Mental Realms of Union with Almighty God.  The life, death and Ascension of JESUS CHRIST serves as our guide, on how to live every day in our communities and do it with a fiery spirit of unconditional love toward all of Creation.  The subject or object of our attention and focus expands within our consciousness, and our subconscious programs are largely responsible for governing our conscious actions. Since there's no longer a need for them and the symbolism offers a negative point of focus, let us put away our Crosses and in this moment, resolve to actively live in harmony with Divine Will.  Let us focus our daily meditations on on how we can individually and collectively actualize unconditional love in our daily relations with all of Creation.  AMEN.

Pathway to Peacefulness

Peace is by far the most desired, yet, the most elusive state of mind and being that exists on Planet Earth.  We search everywhere outside of ourselves for a few moments of Peace.  We wish, hope and pray for Peace in our daily lives, whether at home or at work, with family members, co-workers, neighbors, friends and enemies alike.  Many of us don't believe that we'll ever experience Peace in our lives, as we encounter the relentless stream of mental and emotional terrorism that is launched on a daily basis.

The Buddha once said, "The wisest beings are those who are fearless, silent and loving".  Jesus Christ demonstrated the Power of this Truth, to the Glory of Almighty God, then, gave His life to the powers of darkness in this world, so that we might recognize who we are and joyfully enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.  One who is Fearless is Confident in the knowledge that the Divine is in control of All that exists in this and every other Universe; they cannot be governed by illusion or falsehood.  One who is Silent navigates the waters of life in a state of Calm, Self-contained in the knowledge that true Power (the same Power that Created the Universes) originates from the state of Peace.  One who is Loving Wills to live without any limitations on Thought and experiences Freedom.  Thoughts are energized through the unrestricted use of their Imagination, mixed with Enthusiasm and held constant in Mind by Absolute Faith in the Power of the Divine.  Finally, One who is Loving, is able to manifest whatever they desire for the Good of the Higher Plan.

Our own inner turmoil is the source of most our external turmoil; our individual levels of disorder and imbalance contribute to the Collective Consciousness, which, is mostly unconscious of what is really happening in our world today. It is impossible to find Peace in relationships with others, while we wage War on ourselves from within.  Negative self-talk, anger, jealousy, hatred, guilt, and low self-esteem are just a few of the weapons of choice that many people use on themselves.  Next, we turn these same weapons (consciously and unconsciously) on everyone outside ourselves; no wonder so many of us are miserable and the Planet is in exploding with all types of mental and emotional terrorism.

Thankfully, there are some amongst us, who live in a state of Unconditional Love and are flourishing every day, even in the midst of all this Chaos.  As a Seeker, I have been blessed to meet and associate with a few of these remarkable Human Beings.  Here's what I've learned from my personal observation.  The Good News, is that ALL of us possess this dynamic capacity.  The Wise Ones amongst us, who have come generations before, as well as those who are here right now, have all shared and demonstrated this Truth.  They are Intent and Focused on Being Fearless, Silent and Loving...therefore, they move among us in a state of Peace, even in the midst of Chaos.  What one Man/Woman can learn and master, can be learned and mastered by another; all growth for Good or Ill begins in The Will...either we Will to control and ultimately destroy (Self and others) or we Will to serve the Higher Plan.  Our free exercise of The Will comes with consequences and right now, we're reaping the crops of our Collective Fields.  These are the things that I have been blessed to observe and learn first hand through interacting with these Human Beings, in the midst of the turbulence within the Collective Consciousness during the last two years.  I asked for assistance from the Divine, in the midst of my own trials and inner turmoil and received instruction and blessing through Men and Women; I give All Honor, Praise, Glory and Gratitude to the Spirit Within Me and send my sincere wishes of Peace and Blessings to all my Teachers.  Let us All work to Increase The Peace.  Go within, become still and Silent and listen to the Wisdom of your Spirit...which is the Presence of the Divine in YOU.  NAMASTE

PEACE AND BLESSINGS TO ALL
